The first method I talked to you about was reality checks which could be found in my other post about lucid dreaming. The next method is called DILD (Dream Induced Lucid Dream) and is the most oldest forms of lucid dreaming. This is basically when you train yourself to recognize that your in a dream while your dreaming. To prepare for this you have to site mantras which are basically telling yourself advice like "when I am dreaming, I will realize I am dreaming". Also you must have a clear and organized mind in order to do this, the best thing to do is meditate. There are many ways to realize you are dreaming within a dream, you could spot something in your dream that isn't normally there when you are awake to make you realize your dreaming to.
The next method is called WBTB (Wake Back To Bed). In this you have to wake up in the middle of the night. After that it is important to inject thoughts of lucid dreaming before going back to bed. You can do this by reading about lucid or saying mantras about it. Meditation and reading your past dreams in your dream log would also be helpful. If done correctly you should realize you dreaming when your asleep. Make sure when you wake up, you don't stay up till your fully awake or it'll be hard to fall back asleep.
The 3rd method is called MILD (Mnemonic Induced Lucid Dream). Before doing this method you'll wanna remember your dreams everyday. When doing this you'll also want to be familiar with reality checks and say a lot of mantras. There are 2 ways to do this dream induction, the tradition, or visualization techniques. The traditional way. The trick is to get as relaxed as possible, then repeat the mantras over and over again. You should repeat it but you don't want to stay awake trying to focus on saying the mantras. Try and make your last thought before falling asleep about lucid dreaming. If you wake up in the night just try and remember your last dream, write some notes about your last dream, then go back to sleep and try again.
The Visualization Technique is almost the same as the traditional way except it adds the element of visualization in it. First you relax your body for about 5-10 minutes. Use as many relaxation techniques as possible. Cite your mantras then when you are about to fall asleep stop. Think of a place that you can visit in your dream. You make the scenario for the dream. Then when you realized that worked, you should realize your dreaming.
